Who We Are

     The beginning of our organization traces back several years to a moment many parents experience: waving goodbye to parents while heading off into another exciting stay at camp. Our enthusiasm for athleticism and sports comes from experience. At Crossing4Camp, many of us began our adventure into the outdoors as young campers, with all the memories, lessons, and friendships that such an atmosphere provides.

     In the spring of 2020, the world was rocked by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every facet of "normal" life suddenly changed, including the annual operation of camps across the continent. Most announced the difficult decision to cancel entirely or host online gatherings instead of facilitating an in-person experience.

     Understandably, this abrupt shift in plans has been devastating; both to the camp industry and the disappointed youngsters who were planning to spend their summer there. Many organizations now face dire financial circumstances due to this loss of revenue during their peak season. Many children have spent the summer of 2020 isolated indoors, missing their friends and freedom to play outside. It was from an empathetic sadness toward this circumstance that compelled the Holmes to come forward as advocates for this cause.
